The aircraft’s capabilities are largely derived from the X2 rigid co-axial rotor system, which were also used in X2 and S-97 Raider. The SB>1 Defiant leverages two coaxial rotors rotating in opposite directions, mounted on the top of the aircraft, to provide extra lift from each blade to diminish the lift of the retreating blade on the opposite side. A pusher propulsor allows it to fly twice as fast and as far as conventional helicopters, in addition to offering increased maneuverability and agility in all flight regimes including hover, low-speed flight and high-speed flight.
